SOLD A beautiful high condition and rare Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine chambered in 38-55 and made in 1895. This antique carbine serial # 39XXX remains in high condition with 90% original blueing and 95%+ of the original stock finish. Vivid bright case colors remain on the lever, trigger, extractor and hammer. Traces of case colors remain on the carbine steel butt plate. The bore is mint...shiny with strong lands and grooves and not a hint of any corrosion. The original factory high polish blue and original factory stocks are stunning on this rare carbine...there are 3 "Kill" notches carved into the right side of the forearm next to the receiver. Original factory front post sight with german silver blade insert and original factory rear carbine sight that remains like new with its original high polish blue on the sight base. There are spots of dried grease or oil on the tang, magazine tube and the back edges of the action that i have not removed. This 1894 Carbine is the highest condition antique 38-55 that i have ever had the pleasure to own and would be a super investment for the advanced Winchester collector. The Cody Museum letter is included and states the following...Received in warehouse April 2, 1898...shipped out April 15, 1898....Carbine...38-55 Caliber...Repair & Returned Sept. 23, 1901.
