1895 WINCHESTER SRC
Description:
This is chambered in the somewhat scarce 303 British cal. This saddle ring is complete with the top wood and the orig carbine ladder sight. Often these are not present. Wood is in relatively good cond. The top wood is very nice and there is a crack that runs from the frame to the back of the rear sight. No wood missing. Forearm is also in nice cond as is the buttstock. Winchester sling eyes are present. Metal has some wear to the forward portion. The balance is blue in good cond. A couple interesting features on this gun is that the bbl is threaded for the Maxim silencer. This was an option and occasionally you run across one that has it. The protective ring is in place. Another interesting thing is the early "MSA" Marble sight. The MSA is the early marking on Marble's sights. The sight itself is the Marble special base flexible sight. These had the long base with the curve so that the peep sight sat farther back giving you a longer sighting radius and also the sight would not be in your way on the tang. It is rather strange looking but it is cool and it made sense. One filled hole on the left side of the receiver and the saddle ring is present. An interesting gun.
