Winchester Model 1895 Carbine 30-40 Krag
Description:
Serial #425646, .30-40 Krag, 22" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves.
This carbine was manufactured in 1932, and retains about 70% of the original blue finish with most of the remaining blue on the barrel.
The frame has flaked to the underlying pewter gray metal along the sides, while the lever and magazine have faded to an overall gray patina with traces of original blue on protected areas.
The walnut stock and handguard are in fine shape with some minor handling marks throughout, as well as a short, hairline crack on the top of the handguard where it meets the receiver, and some very minor chips at the edges of the buttplate.
Period, push-button detachable sling swivels were added to the right side of the stock and forend.
This is a handsome looking 1895 carbine, and rates very good plus-near fine condition overall.
