Winchester Model 63 .22LR Rifle
DELUXE RIFLE – AS NEW, FACTORY FACTORY ORIGINAL, BOX, END LABEL INTACT, BEST!
General Specs: Winchester, Year 1952, 22LR, 5lbs 15oz, Rifle
Serial Number: 106671A
The Winchester Model 63 was a continuation of the Model 1903 that was introduced in the same year as its Model name, with the exception that it was redesigned to shoot the more popular .22 Long Rifle. When the Model 1903 was introduced, it was a wholly new design not seen in any past firearms. The Model 63 has remained basically unchanged mechanically from 1903 to 1958 when production was ended due to the high cost of making these hand fit rifles. The Model 63 Deluxe rifles are of superb workmanship, with lots of fine steel and gorgeous walnut, machined to perfection into a flawless design. They made a LOT of standard rifles, which shipped with plain walnut, no checkering on the wood, basic in its delivery. As with most Winchesters, they also catalogued a “Deluxe” rifle, one shipped with 3x wood, hand checkered with perfect multi-point checkering patterns, the finest metal finishes, a rifle for those who wanted the finest little .22 auto they could find. This rifle, sn106671A made in 1952 is a rare example of one of the Deluxe Winchester Model 63’s that still retain 99.9% of all its FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES AND COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL FACTORY BOX WITH INTACT END LABEL. Near perfect in every way, a few tiny handling marks in the wood. The gun could very well be unfired, it is that clean. NOT a restoration, with clear sharp markings, original wood finish, gorgeous wood with capped pistol grip and checkered steel butt plate. Winchester .22 caliber rifles have enjoyed a strong collector interest and have continued to go up in value, especially the rare find of the Deluxe version in true FACTORY MINT CONDITION. The box really adds some value to this package, and you will likely never see another in this high of condition. Of course, we are asking a premium on a gun such as this. Like our old friend Rich used to say, “…where you gonna find another one?” Thanks for looking, and don’t hesitate or it will be gone!
