1987 Winchester Model 9422 XTR .22 Lever Action in Excellent Condition
Description:
These Winchester 9422 XTR rifles are extremely well-made and accurate rimfire lever actions. The display a high degree of fit and finish and an excellent well balanced design. This particular example is serial number F579807 and was manufactured in 1987 according to Winchester's factory records. It is in excellent original condition overall with only minor handling/use marks. The factory gloss blue finish rates a solid 96% plus. There is one spot at the upper right corner if looking at the left side of the receiver where the finish has been scratched (close-up pic provided), the rest are very minor tiny handling marks only visible under close inspection. The bore is minty and bright. The rifling has sharp lands and grooves, and there is zero pitting or erosion visible. The action on this rifle is exceptional. It is smooth and tight, and the trigger breaks cleanly. The original checkered Walnut stock set is also in excellent condition overall. It has 99% of the original gloss finish remaining and just some minor handling/storage marks and dents. Both the buttstock and forearm are free from cracks or rapairs and the original buttplate is nicely fit and tight to the stock. The checkered forearm and straight grip is very good condition overall, with just a few small spots where the checkering is marred. Everything works on this 9422 XTR 100% like the day it left the factory. This Winchester has a very clean and attractive appearance to it, and it would be at home in any collection and a lot of fun at the range or farm. In our opinion, these Winchester 9422s and the Marlin 39As are probably the best lever-action .22s ever made in the U.S. and are sure to continue to appreciate in the collector's market.
