Winchester Model 1903 Self Loading 22 Automatic
Description:
Quality Consignments Wanted! This is the standard model 1903 produced in 1910. The serial number is 60668. This rifle has shown very little use. The bore is bright and sharp. The niter blued bolt shows very little wear. The internal parts also show little wear. The original blue finish would rate a 97% overall condition. The stock and forend retain their original varnish. The toe of the stock has a hairline crack. The original sights are intact on this 22. The tang is factory drilled and tapped for the tang sight. This is a very nice early model 1903 in very fine collectable condition. Most of these 1903's saw hard use and wear. For many years this was a popular 22 automatic due to the fact that it shot smokeless ammunition. That is why this gun is chambered for the Winchester 22 Automatic cartridge. This rifle was one of the first of the automatic rifles to use the then new smokeless powder. Latter on Winchester produced the 63 on the earlier 1903 frame that could shoot the 22 Long Rifle. By that time 22 Long Rifle was available in smokeless powder and would not foul up the 22 auto. This is a very nice clean Winchester that would appeal to the Winchester collector.
