Winchester 1907 SL (Self-Loading) .351 WSL w. 2 Clips
Description:
I’m selling this iconic rifle for a close friend: His FATHER purchased this ‘Winchester 1907 SL (Self-Loading) NEW in 1909; serial number 19649! His dad used it mainly for (Florida - ‘Key Deer’) deer hunting, and passed it on to Tom, his son, in the 50's; who 'retired' it from hunting in the 80's. It has not been fired for over 10 years; at 70, he has decided to sell some of his guns. This rifle is 106 years old! It is in excellent mechanical condition; sharp rifling with no pitting or problems. The wood is absolutely beautiful... typical of the early Winchesters! But it shows some of its ‘age’ being a ‘Used’ rifle... misc. SMALL Dents and Scratches. The only two significant signs of ‘’her’ age are first is in the fore end, it has a long, 'old', tight crack that can be seen to the pictures: Secondly, there are a couple of small, very TIGHT, cracks in the ‘pistol grip’ area. The overall ‘Bluing’ is ‘good’, with wear only on the ‘edges’... BUT at the end of the barrel! There is some light pitting, and significant loss of ‘bluing’... I believe someone attempted ‘cleaning’ with a ‘fine’ abrasive, which also removed some of the ‘bluing’; see the pictures. NOW the PERKS / EXTRAS!! It comes with TWO correctly marked (.351) clips: AND the Rear Sight is very unique and RARE; marked "Chas. Daniels", from the early 1900s. Contact for additional pictures. This rifle is for sale locally, and will be removed ASAP if sold. Credit Cards add 3.5%. USPS Money Order preferred.
