J.P. Clabrough Heavy 10GA Double Barrel sidelever shotgun, 30”
Description:
#3865 J.P. Clabrough Heavy 10GA Double Barrel sidelever shotgun, 30” Fine Damascus twist with a VG++ bore that should clean to Fine or better. It has a tight action but is missing the sidelever return and barrel tensioner spring …and while it could still be used this way, it should have that dual purpose spring replaced to be working 100% correctly. Obviously this was a fine grade of shotgun and British pre-1900s workmanship and this heavy bird gun has liberal fine bank-note engraving on the actions, frame, and smaller parts. The metal is in fine “no-finish” condition, the wood is very decent as well, and if not for the missing spring (which can be seen missing in the photos), this would be a very, VERY nice shotgun for shooting with mild black powder loads. It sure must have been meant for geese, since it is way too heavy to have been a dove or pheasant gun. Except for that missing spring, this is a VG++ shotgun. $695
