Description:
AyA Model No.53 Sidelock SxS in 20 Gauge. The No.53 features 27" barrels with I.C. & Mod. (.011 & .019) chokes and a concave, tapered rib with a silver bead front sight, 2 3/4" chambers, ejectors, double triggers with articulating front (hinged), engraved and extended trigger-guard, manual thumb actuated safety and gold-lined cocking indicators. For strength and safety there is the Purdey type triple-bite with side-clips and gas venting action and includes the two bite chopper lump steel barrels and a concealed third bite, released by top lever. And for beauty, the No.53, is fully engraved in a traditional European ribbon and floral pattern, and includes beautiful high grade walnut stocks, a straight-hand-grip and wrap-around extended checkered butt-stock with a leather covered red/orange recoil pad, and a checkered splinter forend with engraved iron and a push button release. Stock dimensions: LOP: 15 3/8" to recoil pad, or 14 1/8" to wood; DAC: 1 5/16"; DAH: 1 3/4" & Cast Off: 3/16". Weighs: 6 1/2 Lbs. All in very good to excellent condition. The barrel blue is near new with full coverage, a little lighting up of the blue on the exention of the trigger-guard, and the coin finished sidelock action is very bright and shiny with eye-popping engraving! The beautiful grained stocks and glossy lacquer finish shows some occasional light wear, a few wood scratches and smudges in the lacquer finish. There is tiny chipping of the butt-stock's bottom fingers where they meet the action. Also includes a traditional oak hard-case fitted with with leather and canvas covers and red cloth interior, and inside are chrome snap caps and a chrome oiler, a bottle of Lightwood & Son neverust oil and a two piece wooden cleaning rod with brass jag and brush.
