Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade 20 Gauge - IC/M, NICE WOOD, BUTT PLATE, FACTORY 98%
Description:
Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade 20 Gauge Over/Under
IC/M, NICE WOOD, BUTT PLATE, FACTORY 98%
General Specs: Browning, Belgium, Year 1969, 6lbs 6oz, Over & Under
Serial Number: 55796v9
The Browning Superposed was the first prominent over/under here in the USA. Beginning in 1931, the Superposed action has been used in the field and in the game of skeet and trap with over 80 years of proven, rock-solid performance. These are hand-fitted quality guns made one at a time by skilled craftsman that are a dying breed. The Pigeon Grade was the richly hand engraved with deep chiseled oak leaf gracing the top of the frame, fine scroll surrounding pigeons in flight, and delicate bouquets of flowers mixed in. This is a lot of gun for the money for such a finely made gun. Most Pigeon Grades you see have pads on the butt, have had their stocks cut, or have the big fat skeet style forend. By far and away, most are skeet choked as well. This gun has the field style forend, factory IC/M chokes, full length well figured round knob butt stock with factory butt plate intact. Weighing 6lbs. 6oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin, the gun is fast to mount and steady on the swing. The barrels and receiver show no wear, with 99% factory finishes, the wood has all the factory finish and a few normal handling marks from use in the field. Bores are mirror perfect. No cracks or repairs, and not a spec of rust or corrosion anywhere. For those that prefer their double guns with stacked barrels, the Superposed Pigeon Grade 20ga. with its factory 3” chambers will handle all of your upland and sporting needs in style. A sound investment in a gorgeous, fine handling gun, with all of the features you would want in a vintage over/under. Thanks for looking!
