Beautifully engraved by John Warren, a well known American master engraver that specialized on fine firearms with Browning and Winchester receiving the bulk of his work, including this Browning Superposed Lightning in .410 Bore with Serial Number: 1145 J5. Manufactured in 1965. A pre-salt era Browning! The shotgun features 26 1/2" barrels, choked skeet & skeet (**$ & **$), 3” chambers, vent rib with intermediate and front white bead sights, a single selective trigger, thumb actuated with safety, checkered walnut stocks, round pistol grip with a Browning recoil pad and the length of pull measures 14 1/8” with the shotgun weighing in at 6 1/2 Lbs. The chamber area of the top barrel has a triangle of scroll engraving on each side, and the receiver, upper and lower tangs, trigger-guard, release lever and forend iron are all fully engraved with scroll and game scenes, including three gold inlays of bobwhite quail, ruffed grouse and a sharp-eyed hawk.
