A.H Fox 12 Gauge, A Grade, Deep Engraving, Manufactured in 1920
Description: This A.H. Fox 12 gauge A Grade was manufactured in 1920. It has 28” Chromox Fluid Compressed Steel barrels choked Improved Cylinder (.010) in the right barrel and Improved Modified (.025) in the left. The lettering on the top of the barrels is crisp and raised to the touch, and the bores are bright. The wall thickness (top/side/bottom) for the right barrel at 9” from muzzle is .031/.029/.026 and at the middle of the barrel is .031/.031/.027; the left barrel is .032/.028/.028 and .032/.030/.029, respectively. The chambers are 2-3/4" with elongated forcing cones. Bores 9” from the breech are .730/.730 respectively. The weight is 6 lb 13 oz. The drop at the comb is 2” and at the heel 3”. Length of pull from the front trigger to the end of a period Pachmayr recoil pad is 14”. The heel of the stock is cast-on 3/16” for the left handed shooter. The engraving remains deep and distinct. All serial numbers, 26827, match. The gun locks up tight and on face; the top lever returns to the right of center. To better preserve this vintage gun for another century of use by hunters and shooters, the wood is properly reconditioned and the barrels refinished. The color case hardening is by Classic Guns, Crete, IL. The inspection period is 7 days from receipt by buyer. Seller has fired this shotgun using factory 2-3/4” target loads on multiple occasions. However, as for all vintage shotguns, it is recommended that new owner have it inspected by a professional gunsmith before firing. The gun carries a 30-day warrantee, during which Back in Time will have any problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and the return shipping cost.
