Fox A Grade 16 Gauge SxS - 5LBS. 13OZ., 28" BARREL #4 WT. BARRELS, NICE!
Description: Fox A Grade 16 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun 5LBS. 13OZ, 28" #4 WT. BARRELS, NICE! General Specs: Fox, Year 1926, 16 Gauge, 5lbs 13oz, SxS Serial Number: 302485 The demand for small bore Fox guns has never been more intense. Try and find a really nice, unmolested Fox graded 16 or 20 and you will see few that aren't buggered up in one way or another. The Fox 16ga., built on a 20ga. frame, has earned it the reputation as being the finest handling of all American doubles, and this gun is no exception. With the lightweight 28" number 4 weight barrels it weighs in at 5lbs 13oz. and balances perfectly on the hinge pin. This is what most upland shooters consider to be the perfect weight; not too light with enough weight for a smooth swing, but an easy carry for a long day afield. We have included a copy of the factory order card and you will see this gun has not been altered in its configuration with the exception of two things. One, it was shipped with a 13 3/4" LOP to a butt plate. The wood has not been altered, but a vintage pad was added giving it a useable LOP of 14 3/8". Second, the stock was bent up to give it a useable drop at heel and comb. The barrels have not been altered, and the entire gun has been nicely restored. Made in 1926, sn302485 has survived in remarkable condition and is the perfect upland gun that will appreciate in value as you enjoy its use. RST Shotshells makes an incredible spreader load for your close in needs, or have us open the chokes to your stated specs within 2 weeks of purchase. The M/F chokes it shipped with are perfect for western upland game and sporting clays (with a pocket full of spreaders), or late season grouse. What a great find at a very reasonable price. The few others advertised have very short LOP AND A PAD, or are in rough shape. This gun is ready to go! Thanks for looking.
