Fox AE 20 Gauge - #2 WEIGHT KRUPP BARRELS RARE SINGLE TRIGGER
Description: Fox AE 20 Gauge SxS #2 WEIGHT KRUPP BARRELS, RARE SINGLE TRIGGER General Specs: Fox, Year 1917, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 8oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: 201039 Many gun lovers reading this ad regularly scour the internet for good deals on Fox shotguns. One thing is for certain; the availability of graded 20ga. Fox shotguns has dwindled to nearly zero. Shooter/collectors have recognized that the Fox 16ga. and 20ga. guns are the most well balanced, lightest weight, best handling guns of all the vintage American doubles. In addition, it is generally known that they have the simplest, most reliable actions as well. This little Philly Fox, sn201039 produced in 1917, is an awesome find. First, they only made about 2400 A Grade 20ga. Fox guns, less than 1200 with ejectors, and only a few hundred with the Fox/Kautzky single selective trigger. IF YOU ARE A SINGLE TRIGGER GUY YOU KNOW THIS IS A RARE GUN! It is in very clean condition, with perfect screws, mechanics, and mirror perfect factory bores. Most Fox AE 20ga. guns are made to be light. Not this one, as it was purpose built for heavier loads with #2 weight Krupp steel barrels, and it still weighs a nice 6 1/2lbs. balanced dead on the hinge pin for perfect handling dynamics. If you like more stout loads for pheasants and such, this is your gun. The factory order card has more changes and scratch-outs than any I have seen and is difficult to decipher, but I believe the gun is all correct…even the pad appears factory original and certainly not a reproduction. It has been on the gun for a very long time. Factory choked at IC/M it will make a great vintage clays gun as well. We did rust blue the barrels to perfection, but the balance of the gun is “as found”. For those that like to see a gun with perfect wood, we can remove all dents and scratches and restore the wood to as new within 4-6 weeks of purchase for an additional $450. The case color and engraving have never been touched and the mechanics are perfect, so nothing else needs to be done. It is hard enough to find a decent AE 20ga. nowadays, let alone with a SST! Don’t let this one escape you. It will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use, so it is a grand investment tool for your hard-earned funds. Thanks for looking!
