Fox BE 12 Gauge - BEAVERTAIL, NICELY RESTORED, LATE ENGRAVING
Description: Fox BE 12 Gauge SxS Shotgun BEAVERTAIL, NICELY RESTORED, LATE ENGRAVING General Specs: Fox, Year 1916, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 6oz, Side by Side Serial Number: 23125 The B Grade Fox was relatively short lived as a model, being discontinued from their catalog offerings in 1918. Engraved with a full coverage foliate and game scene style, it is a very handsome Fox gun that is not often seen. This gun, serial number 23125 shipped in 1916, has been nicely restored and has a very desirable beavertail forend and gorgeous wood. The screws are perfect, bores are excellent, and the 7lb. 6oz. gun balances perfectly on the hinge pin. The 28" Chromox Steel barrels have mirror bores, 99% rust blue, double ivory beads, and 2 3/4" chambers. What a great bird and clays gun this would make with its strong well timed ejectors, tight as new action, excellent modern stock dimensions, all cleaned up and something to be proud of. There are no cracks or splits in the new stock set and the mechanics are excellent all the way around. Searching the internet you will find many EARLY STYLE B GRADE Fox guns, but the more desirable late style engraving is rarely seen offered for sale. The engraving is far superior to the rough and tumble A Style engraving, with nice bird scenes on the bottom of the receiver, prettier wood, and nicer checkering patterns. For just a little more than a nice AE Fox, you can have this fully restored Fox BE. Thanks for looking.
