Fox Sterlingworth 20 Gauge SxS - 28" HIGH FACTORY CONDITION, 5lbs 15oz
Description: Fox Sterlingworth 20 Gauge Side-by-Side 28", HIGH FACTORY CONDITION, 5BLS. OZ. General Specs: Fox, Year 1927, 20 Gauge, 5lbs 15oz, SxS Serial Number: 259022 Most will agree the Fox Sterlingworth 20ga. is the best value for a fine small gauge vintage American double in today's marketplace bate. Built on a tiny 20ga. frame, therefore lighter than like guns from Parker, L.C. Smith, or Ithaca, dynamically balanced... the Sterlingworth is still an affordable field and clays gun with the handling and shooting characteristics of a much more expensive gun. The American double gun world loves the Fox shotgun. Just try and find a decent 20ga. in any grade. There are few offered for sale, and for good reason. The A.H. Fox 20 bore has been described as the “most perfectly proportioned 20ga.” boxlock ever made and it likely is true. I have a treasure here; a 1927 Sterlingworth, sn259022, that has over 75% factory case color, 99% factory blue, 90% factory trigger guard blue, 28" #3 weight barrels, mirror bores, great wood with factory butt plate. Weighing 5lb.s 15oz. and perfectly balanced 3/16" ahead of the hinge pin, it is a delightful little bird gun that will appeal to both the collector and the upland hunter. High condition, original guns are becoming near impossible to find and will continue to grow in value as fewer and fewer are available to purchase. A great investment opportunity and delightful gun for your upcoming bird season. We can bend the stock or add a pad to meet your shooting dimensions (within reason), change choke constrictions, lengthen chambers and forcing cones, all here in our shop within 2 weeks of purchase if you so desire. THIS IS A "VFI CERTIFIED GUN", meaning we have stripped the receiver to its smallest part, cleaned all the parts in our Ultrasonic cleaner, inspected each for integrity, lubricated and reassembled all. This is a $225 service that gives you confidence in the mechanics of your vintage Fox and allows VFI to provide a 90 day mechanical warranty on a VFI CERTIFIED gun. Who else offers that?!!! Thanks for looking.
