PERAZZI MX8 SCO ORO O/U CLAYS SHOTGUN
FINELY ENGRAVED w/GOLD INLAYS BY MASTER ENGRAVER CARLO PASOTTI
For sale is an OUTSTANDING Pre-Owned Perazzi MX8 manufactured in 1998 (serial number 114XXX) and imported by BSA of NY. This was a custom order gun and has been lightly used over the past 20 years.
This MX/8 12 gauge shotgun is finished in incredible SCO ORO style hunting images. Engraved by Perazzi master engraver Carlo Pasotti. The late Pasotti is recognized as one of the premier Bullino style engravers of Perazzi high grade guns. There will be no more from this artist. The satin coin finished receiver features wonderfully executed Bullino style engraving with highly detailed gold inlaid bird and dog scenes on the sides and a bust of a dog on the bottom. The scenes feature intense attention to even the smallest details with rich testure on the animals themselves. The left side of the receiver is signed 'Pasotti' in fancy script in the lower rear corner. The underside is also marked 'ORO' just to the rear of the hinge.
The gun features a single seletive gold washed trigger and tang mounted thumb safety. The gun is matched to an intensely figured Schnabel tip forearm with fancy fleur de lis checkering. The pistol grip stock has a right hand palm swell with matching fleur de lis checkering, checkered flats, Monte Carlo comb and a Kick Eez rubber pad. The stock and forearm were a custom addition and do not appear to be from the Perazzi factory as they are not stamped with the serial number matching the receiver and barrel as is typical of a factory stock.
This gun does not have factory paperwork or a spares kit. Red factory Perazzi case is included although the case interior lining is deteriorating and in need of repair / replacement.
Overall condition of this gun considered to be Excellent Plus (i.e. 98%) and shows minimal signs of use and wear with only minor handling marks.
This is an opportunity to own a truly magnificent clays gun at a price $000's less than a new gun and without the pedigree of a truly great engraver. Don't miss out on this one !
