Piotti Lunik 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun
Description: Piotti Lunik 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun 2 BARREL SET, CASED, BARGAIN PRICE General Specs: Piotti, Year 1989, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 11oz, Side by Side Serial Number: 8812 The Piotti Lunik sidelock side by side is a superb example of the gunmaker's art in all ways; Holland style action, perfectly struck chopper lump barrels, all parts made in Piotti's facility, well figured European walnut with perfect checkering and inletting, and engraving that meets or surpasses any in the world. The Lunik retails for $3000 more than the King and is engraved with an open vine and foliate pattern more like the Holland engraving than the Purdey style that the King Model resembles. Deeply chiseled and shaded background makes this engraving pop, and is more attractive to me than the King style engraving. This gun, if purchased new today with all of the extras including premiums for 16ga., gold crest in forearm, extra set of barrels, Briley choke tubes, leather case, and canvas case cover, would exceed $60,000. This gun is in near new condition and can be had for a fraction of that cost. Ready for birds or clays, weighing 6lbs. 10oz. and balanced nicely 3/8" ahead of the hinge pin with the 28" barrels, 6lbs. 6oz with the 25" barrels balanced on the hinge pin, it is one stunning gun! As the value of new Piotti guns continues to climb, so does the value of the gently used guns. For the upland hunter that pursues southern quail or ruffed grouse and woodcock, the 25" barrels are perfect for tight quarters and the variables needs as the season progresses. Grouse in September require open chokes, mid-season IC/M, late season IM/F. With Briley screw-in chokes all needs are met with the ease of maneuverability in the brush. For open country you have the 28" fixed choke barrels. This is a dynamic, versatile setup for your upland and clays. We can alter, even tighten, the chokes on the 28" barrels if you wish, and still have fixed chokes. If you don't know how, ask. What a great package at a great price!
