Remington 3200 Over/Under - 4 GAUGE SKEET SET; FACTORY F GRADE W/ GOLD! *REDUCED PRICE!*
Description: Remington 3200 Over/Under Shotgun **REDUCED PRICE!*** 4 GAUGE SKEET SET; FACTORY F GRADE W/ GOLD! General Specs: Remington, Year 1982, Gauges: 12, 20, 28, 410 , 8lbs 14oz +/- 1oz All sets, O/U Serial Number: 46509 They made the Remington 3200 Over/Under from 1973 to 1984, producing about 46,000 guns in all. ONLY ABOUT A DOZEN WERE LIKE THIS ONE. This piece of forever Remington history is a factory documented, factory engraved F Grade with heavy gold inlays, 4 gauge skeet set made special for the Board of Directors in about 1982. We have been in contact with the Remington Society of America regarding this special set, as well as Don Talbot, the last master engraver of the Remington Custom shop before its close in 2013, and they have helped us document this gun. There is a photograph of 9 M3200 F Grades, sn46501 thru 46509, the last 7 with gold, in the Remington Archives. There is no information where they went or who they were for. Speaking directly with Don Talbot, he recalls witnessing Jack Caswell, one of the best of the Remington factory engravers, working on a group of M3200 F Grades during this time, and he believes they were to be presented to the Board of Directors later that year. This makes sense, as it is well known that guns made for executives or directors would not be logged in the usual manner. This gun, sn46509, is in fact signed by Jack Caswell on the stump beneath the grouse in flight on the right side of the receiver, and is one of the 9 documented factory F Grades mentioned above. The best count any of the men I spoke to could come up with is that there were likely less than 12 documented factory F Grade Remington 3200's ever produced. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PIECE OF REMINGTON HISTORY. The gun itself is a fantastic example of Remington Custom Shop work, with all of the metal finishes at 99% or better, the exhibition black walnut stock stunning showing just a few small scuffs, very large gold inlays on the left and right side of the receiver, a gold grip cap with the initials "SGW" engraved upon it, and the tournament skeet barrels in 12, 20, 28, and .410 all engraved the same. The gun is balanced and choked precisely the same with all four barrel sets and weighs plus or minus 1 ounce with all four sets. This is a true Tournament Skeet set! Cased in its original case to house all parts, with the original manual and papers, you can invest in this collectible shotgun and it will gain value as you enjoy its use. See the table below for specifications on this gun. It is unlikely you will ever have another chance to own a Remington like this gun! Thanks for looking.
