1922 Remington Model 10 Custom Trap Gun with Deluxe Wood 12 Gauge ** Restored **
Description: The 12 gauge take-down Remington Model 10 pump shotgun was manufactured from 1911 to 1929 and was offered in barrel lengths from 26 to 32 inches in various chokes. It featured a quick take-down design, a 5 round tube magazine, bottom ejection, and a plain Walnut pistol grip style stock set. The Model 10 was a well built and reliable shotgun, and was a commercial success for Remington. It was discontinued only when Remington did some engineering changes to the model and introduced the new model as the Model 29. This example was made in September of 1922, and is serial number 210430, stamped on both the receiver and the barrel. At some point during this gun's life it was professionally restored/refinished and customized into a trap gun configuration. A Simmons ventilated rib was professionally installed on the factory 30" full choked barrel, and the original stock set was replaced with a beautiful highly figured and checkered American Walnut trap-style stock set with a high comb. All of the metal has been reblued with a pleasing high gloss blue finish. Very little buffing was done as the edges still look sharp and the numbers and letters stamped into this shotgun at the factory are still clear and legible. The restored blue finish looks superb, and shows only some very minor handling marks and a little light finish wear where moving parts make contact. The gun was obviously in very good mechanical condition and lightly used before being restored, but the finish was probably dull or worn. The 30" inch full choked barrel has a beautiful clean bore, free from pitting, bulges, or dents. The custom American Walnut stock set is in excellent condition overall. It is free from cracks or repairs, and shows very little wear. The sunburst grain in this stock set really sets this shotgun apart in a crowd. The checkering on the pistol grip and forearm is clean and crisp, and as you can see in the pictures, the clear coat still looks great and shows only some minor handling marks. The pistol grip has a black plastic grip cap with a white spacer installed, and the buttstock has a Pachmayer White Line recoil pad installed. The length of pull is 14 & 1/8th" inches to the end of the pad. The action on this Model 10 is smooth and locks up tight. All of the controls work 100% like the day this Remington left the factory almost 100 years ago. The take-down controls work perfectly, and the gun comes apart or goes together easily. Both halves of this gun lock together tight with no play If you have been looking for a new trap gun that you can be proud to carry to the trap field or add to your collection, this custom vintage Remington Model 10 would be a great choice.
