Here we present an antique Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, made circa 1860. The maker of this large and heavy shotgun is unknown, but the names carved into this gun may provide clues: “Big Injun”, “John Henry”, and “H. Simon”. These are all carved in cursive with the same styling. The gun itself is massive. The bores are 10 gauge. There is a very old piece of wire binding the barrels to the stock, so old that it has fused together. Who knows where this shotgun has been or who these men were.
The overall condition is that of a relic. The metal surfaces are all uniformly dark with age. The stock is solid. The carved names are clear and legible, with nice cursive. The bores are smooth and dark. The actions are not functional. This would make a great gun to put in a Western themed display.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 32-3/4 inches in length.
Caliber: 10 gauge
Overall condition as seen in photos.
