Holland&Holland Royal Ejector 12B Side by Side Shotgun
Description:
Sold 2/6/16
This is a very fine example of Holland's "flag ship" shotguns from the last quarter of the 19th Century and is in unusually good and original condition for its age. In 2009, Heritage Guns of England re-sleeved the barrels using the so-called "Invisible Sleeving" TIG welding method and had the barrels re-proofed for 2 3/4" (70mm) modern nitro cartridges at the London Proof House.
It is assumed the wood is all original judging from the quality and similarity to the original specifiations from the maker's records. This was the number 2 gun of a matched pair made in 1891 for a Mr Christy. The gun is so marked.
There is a custom black leather case hand crafted by Mr Geo Pittleko for this gun. He currently makes special order cases for Holland. Included in the case is a set of horn and brass Holland snap caps and a brass oil bottle. It is estimated that the value of the case and accessiories would be about $1,500.
Trigger pulls are 3 1/2 lbs front and 4 1/2 lbs rear.
This is an extremely fine gun and is in modern shooting condition. We have it priced thousands less than comparable listings. We will be happy to answer any questions or email you the original picture file for a closer inspection.
