You may not know that Stephen Grant was a managing partner in Boss & Co., to this day, one of the most respected gun makers in the world.
1867 brought the world many historical events,
The United States purchased Alaska from Russia, Wilbur Wright was born,
Alfred Noble invented dynamite,
and to the point here, Stephen Grant
left Boss & Co. and opens his own gun business in the highly touted
gun center of the world, St. James street , London, England.
Quickly known for long guns of the highest quality the firm became renowned for the use of the side lever opening action which is still extremely popular today. This Grant has excellent barrels which have good walls and are in 2 3/4" nitro proof.
The dimensions are excellent and the gun balances as one would expect, with ease and fluidity.
I particularly like the chokes which are perfect for hunting any of the upland game in North America.
The makers’ case contains its oil bottle, snap caps, cleaning rod with their jags.
This fine shotgun is an excellent investment which can be and rightfully enjoyed in the field.
