Winchester Model 21 12 Gauge - TRAP SKEET, FACTORY FACTORY LETTER, #3 ENGRAVED, KNOCKOUT WOOD
Description: Winchester Model 21 12 Gauge Side by Side TRAP SKEET, FACTORY LETTER, #3 ENGRAVED, KNOCKOUT WOOD General Specs: Winchester, Year 1936, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 5oz, SxS Serial Number: 3543 When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation. A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN. Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm. This Model 21, SN3543 built in 1936, is an exceptional Model 21 with some of the most highly figured factory wood you will see. The included Cody Firearms Museum info sheet shows this gun shipped just the way you see it with the exception of the #3 factory style engraving and the Winchester pad. The LOP, stock dimensions, stock style, chokes, barrel length, etc. all match the letter precisely. The info sheet notes that the gun was returned for a repair order and that could be when the engraving was done and pad added. If Cody can find that repair order and it shows this as factory engraved it would double in value in an instant. The finish on the wood and metal is 99% with no pits or flaws. Bores are excellent, mechanics are perfect, as are the beautifully engraved screws and checkering. The only noticeable wear is a little bit of blue loss on the trigger guard tang. As it is, we have it priced as if it was engraved after leaving the factory. If you ever wanted a very special Model 21 to chase birds and clays that will give you extreme pride of ownership and impress all who have the privilege to see the gun, this is the one and at a very affordable price. Simply a gorgeous, classic Winchester. Thanks for looking and don’t miss out on this one!
