Winchester Model 21 TRAP SKEET, 20GA., FACTORY LETTER, ORIGINAL
Description: Winchester Model 21 20 Gauge Side by Side TRAP SKEET, 20GA., FACTORY LETTER, ORIGINAL General Specs: Winchester, Year 1933, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 9oz, SxS Serial Number: 6274 Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition, original Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. The Trap/Skeet Grade was only produced for about 5 years (1933-1939), so it is scarce as a Grade. From 1930 to 1943 they only made 1900 20 gauge guns in all grades, most of them Standard Grades or Skeet Grades. This gun, sn6274 is a first-year production made in 1933, is in factory original condition and has nicely figured wood and original metal finishes. The Trap Grade was said to have special attention to boring, chokes, and finish with highly figured wood, and checkered side panels. The "Trap/Skeet" was a skeet choked Trap Grade. At 84 years old it is in remarkable condition, with perfect mechanics, no major nicks or dings, mirror bores, tight on face and hinge pin like a new gun, just a little carry wear on the bottom of the receiver as one would expect. The stock dimensions are superb and the gun handles nicely in hand. What a great bird or clays gun, and one that will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use. Thanks for looking.
