Antonio Zoli 20 Gauge – SIDE X SIDE CUSTOM IMPORTED BY THAD SCOTT, SINGLE TRIGGER, AS NEW
Description: Antonio Zoli 20 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun SIDE X SIDE CUSTOM, IMPORTED BY THAD SCOTT, SINGLE TRIGGER, AS NEW General Specs: Antonio Zoli, Year 1980, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, SxS Serial Number: 137726 Antonio Zoli has made quite a name for itself in the sporting clays world with its line of Sporting Clays over/under guns introduced in the last 10 years. Long before, Antonio Zoli began making guns (1860) in Brescia Italy, and has made guns ranging from simple to extravagant. For decades Abercrombie and Fitch had Antonio Zoli build guns to their specifications for import and sale in the U.S.A. and there were many fine guns brought in under the A & F label. This particular gun was imported by the well-known gun dealer Thad Scott out of Indianola, Mississippi in 1980. Thad Scott was an avid double gunner and knew what the American market wanted, and specified characteristics he wanted to see in the guns he imported. Not made to the makers existing line, Thad Scott imported guns have unique features and were made to exacting specifications. This gun has hand engraved rose and scroll engraving with nicely cut border engraving on a coin finished receiver that is simple yet elegant in its execution. The diminutive box lock ejector action is fitted with a bullet-proof non-selective single trigger, strong well-timed ejectors, beaded fences, and a dynamite safety button nicer than on most $20,000 guns I have seen. The strong, straight grained European walnut is laid out and fitted to the receiver to perfection, with 28 line per inch checkering. The forend is attached with the elegant Anson style push button release and is nearly fully checkered. THIS IS A VERY ATTRACTIVE LITTLE 20 GAUGE GUN. The barrels are beautiful inside and out, with hand filed rib matting, gold inlaid maker’s name, dark factory blue with highly polished finish resembling the barrels you would see on the finest English made guns. Fitted with sling swivels (very useful when training dogs or hunting in the west where there is not a tree in sight to lean your gun on while taking sustenance or tending to other needs requiring both hands!), if they are not to your taste we can remove them and make the existing holes nearly invisible at your request. Weighing 6lbs. 5oz. and balanced 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, the gun is a delight in hand. The 28” barrels are choked the most desirable IC/M, useful for clays or upland birds, and the bores are perfect. This is a lot of gun for the money and has a hard to find single trigger and ejectors. It should sell fast, so don’t hesitate or she’ll be gone. Thanks for looking.
