Guns International #: 100457296
here`s a better than average s&w mod of 1917 revolver. gun shows many british proofs along with the correct us military proof marks. from the internet research i`v done this gun was one of approx 20,000 that were sent to the british during the battle of britian under the first part of "lend, lease".
caliber is .45 auto which requires the use of half moon clips.. bore and chambers are very nice, lock up and timing are very good. quite a lot of original blue remains, case colors on hammer and trigger are faded but still quite good. the gun appears all original to me{i`m not an expert}. frame and cylinder are matching numbers , barrel flat is unmarked and i suspect it was replaced sometime after ww1 and before it was delivered to the british. barrel is us property marked and also british proofed. a nice, attractive n-frame gun for the shooter or military arms collector.
colt revolver or auto trades considered. requires an ffl or c&r. need cert funds , ships usps priority mail at no charge to buyer
