Austrian Wheelock by Balthasar Zellner. Worked in Salzburg circa 1690-1735. The makers sink on the barrel would date this rifle closer to 1690-1720. Lock is engraved and also marked “BZ”. Gun has a swamped barrel ramrod pipes, muzzle cap and patchbox cover are nicely engraved bone. The Zellner family was prolific in that at least 13 Zellners worked in Salzburg 1664 to 1730.
