Model 1860 .52 Caliber
Spencer Rifle
Description: Reduced!!!!!! Beautiful example of the Model 1860 Spencer .52 caliber repeating carbine. All original. Honest strong Spencer. Matching serial numbers 45705. All original parts. It is 100% fully functional. Original 7-round loading tube. Long range flip-up sight with working elevator and all-legible yardage markings. Excellent rifling. Beautiful walnut stock retains it's original luster, with only the minor and expected field and combat wear. The metal has the most pleasant, complete and evenly smoky/steely patina on all metal surfaces, with minor frosted pitting. The Spencer's patent marking is legible as is the outer serial number. Minor dings, bumps, bruises, and flaking around the mortise. ThIs Spencer Carbine is within the Springfield Research Database System of known issued serial numbered Spencer Carbines. This one is serial range "match" of those issued to the "Bloody" 2nd New York Cavalry Regiment. Small "H E" in the stock. There are only two cavalry troopers in the 2nd NY with those initials. Purchaser will receive more research information on those two troopers and the Springfield Research System in the letter of purchase and accompanying information I received from John Spicer of Champion HillRelics. Great Spencer Carbine. All original Civil War percussion Spencer Carbine for a outstanding price. Compare prices and quality and you will not find a better deal on an original Spencer that was not converted after the war. More pictures upon request.
