Smith & Wesson No. 2 Old Army Revolver
Description:
Serial #15078, .32 RF, 6” octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This is a handsome revolver that has matching assembly numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel and retains about 90% of the original blue with some mild fading on the edges and a turn-ring on the cylinder and some finish loss along the backstrap. There are a couple of cleaned areas with minor scratches on the cylinder and the right side of the frame.
The hammer has some traces of original color case-hardening but is predominantly a mottled gray overall and the barrel lock-up is tight without any discernible lateral play.
The rosewood grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and have almost all of the original piano varnish remaining with just a few minor surface blemishes on either panel.
The mechanism functions flawlessly and the revolver rates fine-excellent condition overall.
