Guns International #: 100411236
REDUCED PRICE REDUCED Winchester Model 12 28 ga skeet, we make this gun out to be a Original 28 gauge skeet that has been upgraded to a pigeon grade with the added doughnut base vent rib and aluminum bodied cutts compensator. Pigeon grade wood. Both of the proof marks are missing, but not polished away so I assume it was a plain barrel, The cartridge stop is marked 28 gauge, The rear of the receiver has not been polished or defaced (the original file marks are intact and complete) and the stamp is tilted towards the top of the receiver but shows the top of an 8, it was examined under a engravers microscope by a noted engraver, he was certain it was an 8 and not a zero, The mag tube is crimped as an original 28 gauge would be. There is also a horizontal P at the rear of the receiver that is consistent with the 28 gauge marking as it is deeper at the top and weak at the bottom so we assume it was in the jig angled or struck on an angle. Like so many pigeon grades the pigeon on the receiver extension appears to be added on and not factory original. Mechanically and esthetically it is in great shape with only some blue loss on the cutts body. Shows very little use since upgrade. There is a repair at the toe of the stock. Winchester pistol grip cap and butt plate. Overall a very nice gun that was an original 28 gauge not a built up 20 ga.
