How to have firearms shipped to your FFL

How to Have Your Firearm Shipped to a Local Dealer
Just purchased a firearm and need it shipped to your local FFL dealer? The process is simple—here’s how it works:
  1. Find a Local FFL Dealer
Use our FFL search tool to locate a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) in your area who can handle the transfer.
  2. Confirm with Your Dealer
Contact your chosen FFL to confirm they accept transfers and ask about their transfer fee.
  3. Provide FFL Information to the Seller
Send your dealer’s contact information (or a copy of their license if provided) to the seller of your firearm.
  4. Track Your Shipment
Once the seller ships your firearm, you’ll receive tracking information to follow its delivery.
  5. Complete the Transfer
When your firearm arrives at your local FFL, you’ll fill out the ATF Form 4473 and complete a background check. After approval, you can take your new firearm home.
