Unusual Souvenir Ethnographic Weapons Display 1960s-70s
Description: This is a very nice grouping of tribal weapons (Southeast Asian in origin) consisting of: a two-piece “falfeg"-type fighting spear, simple axe with trapezoidal iron head, interesting combination bow/quiver complete with two arrows, and a simple “barong" knife with wooden scabbard. The blade is marked "Taiwan". The items are housed in a custom built two-piece wooden case that measures 4' 1/4" x 1' x 2 1/2" closed. The cover has a spot of handling damage and the name “TONY" is written about midway down. The weapons themselves are in very good condition with some mild oxidation present on both the spear and the axe head but the rustically carved dark wooden hafts and scabbard are in excellent shape with only a few negligible handling marks. The set was purchased in the late 1960s or early 1970s and was probably purchased by a serviceman in Vietnam or the Philippines. This is a neat set and would make a handsome decorative accent for a home office or study. SOLD Manufacturer: Weapons Model: Souveir |
