Winchester 1873 RBFMCB 44WCF, 19XX (1874!!), scarce 1st model with the mortised thumbprint dustcover which is a non-original replaced cover, but does look in character with the gun. VG bore (about a 7+ on a
scale of 10), VG smooth tight action and standard trigger. Smooth thin grey “no-finish” exterior metal, no pitting at all and VG markings. The wood is VG+ and does appear to be the original wood and well above average for a rifle of this age.
A really decent and very, VERY early First Model ’73! There were less than a half-dozen ‘73s made in 1873, so for all practical purposes, with a serial number in the 19XX range, this is in reality a first year production gun!! About VG+ as described. $3250.
