Winchester Model 1894 Rifle in .32-40 built 1912
Description:
Serial #632733, .32-40 W.C.F., 26" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This 1912-made rifle retains 85-90% of the original blue finish along both the barrel and magazine tube.
There is some mild silvering and gray fading at the muzzle, as well as further finish loss along the edges of the barrel flats.
The frame has an overall pewter gray patina with plum-brown freckling along the edges and sides, while the lever and hammer have faint traces of muted color case-hardening remaining.
The walnut buttstock and forend both rate excellent as refinished.
The wood has few handling marks, and has an oil finish that is very close to the original.
The rifle features a period replacement semi-buckhorn rear sight with adjustable slide, and a replacement sporting front blade.
This is a very nice Model 1894, chambered in a great caliber, and in very good plus-fine condition overall.
