Parker PHE Grade 10 Gauge 32" Barrels Circa 1927
Sold...Charles...A fine high condition and rare Parker PHE double barrel shotgun, 10 gauge with 32 inch Parker Steel barrels. Serial # 220,xxx all matching with about 95% original barrel blue, about 70% original bright and vivid case colors on the receiver. This PHE HAS A #3 frame. LOP is 14 5/8 inches. DAH is 2 5/8 inches. Weight is 9.8 lbs. Bores are like a mirror with not even a hint of any corrosion...as new! Original stocks with original varnish on the butt stock at about 90% and its original hard plastic dog head butt plate with engraved screws. Original and matching fore end with beautiful bright vivid case colors inside and smooth silver on the metal outside. Ejectors work perfectly and throw the shells well clear. 100% case colors on the water table with some fading on the recoil shield. Firing pins show almost no sign of wear. There is a hairline crack that remains tight on the checkering at the pistol grip, coming off the right side of the tang travelling thru the checkering to the lower tang, right side. The left side did not crack and is stable. There is not even a splinter missing. You really have to look good to see it. There are a few small chips on the butt plate at the bottom and a small chip of the stock there as well. The stocks have an excellent grain and patina and have never been sanded or refinished. This PHE came out an old collection and has been in a climate controlled vault for almost 50 years. This is a stunning Parker PHE 10 gauge that has never been touched or altered in any way. It is heavy but streamlined, balanced and points very well. A rare and high condition PHE 10 gauge with only a handful ever made. Parker records are missing in this serial range.
