WINCHESTER 1885 HI-WALL IN THE SCARCE 45 EXPRESS CALIBER

Description:
This is the early thick side frame with a 30 inch #2 round barrel chambered in 45 EX caliber. Blade front sight and typical buckhorn rear sight. Marked on top of the barrel "MANUFACTURED EXPRESSLY FOR MESSRS. OAKES & CO. MADRAS." This was one of the largest department stores in India. Receiver retains a good amount of thinning case color. Hammer and lever have good color as well. Barrel has about 60% thinning original blue. Bright shiny bore. Mechanically excellent. Wood retains most varnish with just a few light handling mars and a steel shotgun buttplate. 11k serial range puts it at 1887 manufacture date.
