1907 Colt SAA, Copper Queen Mining Co., Bisbee Az Shipped, .38-40, Colt Letter
Description: Gorgeous first Gen Colt SAA with Az Territory history. Colt Archives Letter states gun was shipped on May 23, 1907 in shipment of 3 to the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Company , Bisbee Arizona Territory. "The Copper Queen Mine was a copper mine in Cochise County, Arizona, United States. Its development led to the growth of the surrounding town of Bisbee in the 1880s. Its ore body ran 23% copper, an extraordinarily high grade. It was acquired by Phelps Dodge in 1885." The gun was shipped as a 38-40, 4 3/4" barrel in blue and case color. Gun has been completely restored and retains nearly all of the reapplied finish and remains in excellent restored condition. Colt shipped over 600 guns to the Copper Queen Mining Co. for Security and to keep the peace down on the American-Mexico border Sale is for gun and Colt letter only, other photos, stock certificates and holster go with two other Copper Queen Colts in our collection.
