***SOLD***1896 Vintage Winchester Model 1895 Flatside chambered in .38-72 WCF w/ 26" Octagonal Barrel ** Exceptionally Rare **

Description:
****SOLD**** The Winchester Model 1895 Rifle Flatside was made from 1895-1896, with serial numbers range 1 to approximately 5000.  The rifles were chambered in either. 30 US, .38-72, or .40-72.  These early 1895 Winchesters were distinguishable in that the frame does not have fluting or ridge contouring, which many thoughts was much more attractive than the latter.  This 1895 is fitted with a 26-inch octagon barrel, standard rifle open sights, walnut forearm with ebony tip, straight grip walnut stock fitted with a steel crescent butt-plate, box magazine, color case hardened finished butt-plate and hammer, rest of gun is blue finished, and chambered in the rare .38-72 cartridge.  This 1895 Winchester is in excellent somewhat original condition, retaining 70% original blue, with mostly high edge wear on the frame and barrel.  The butt-plate and hammer retain approximately 60% original case-hardened finish.  The bore is beautiful and bright with sharp rifling, and the action is tight and functions perfectly.  All screw heads are mostly unmolested.  The forearm retains most of its original finish with assorted handling marks/pressure dents/scratches.  The stock has a small chip at the toe where it meets the butt-plate and a chip repair on the left side of the stock at the corner of the upper tang, the stock also appears to have been lightly sanded and refinished.  This a nice example of a rare variation of the Model 1895 Winchester.                                             ANTIQUE FIREARM                             PRICE: $8500.00               We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, a dealer of fine firearms since 1974.                    PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell, and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Do you have an Individual Firearm,  Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell?  Give us a call or send an email, and we can talk about buying the item(s) outright or selling them on consignment for you.                   NOTE:  No additional fee for a Credit Card payment.
