An Unusual and very attractive American Percussion Half-Stock Rifle
Description: A "FINE" and Very Attractive contemporary American Percussion Half-Stock Rifle, made in the style of "C. BAKER", circa. 1835-1850's. Fit with a 36", .40 caliber rifled octagon iron barrel with patent breech and under-rib. The barrel is fit with a fully adjustable rear sight and Rock Mountain front sight. All furniture, lock plate, butt plate, set triggers, and trigger guard are case colored. The half-stock is well feathered to the wrist and continually covered with tiger stripe to the silver poured nose cap. There is no cheek piece section and has a decorative pewter fore-end cap. There are no dings, nicks, handling marks, only perfection in every detail. The stock wood to metal fit is superb in every way. All mechanics are tuned in top working order. The wood ram is fit with brass tip. A great looking American rifle! MEASURES - 53" overall length. Length of pull 14" NOTE - American made Kentucky or Pennsylvania-style rifles are very desirable. These rifles were very popular during the American Civil War as sniper rifles. After the Civil War, these rifles ended up going west and were used to hunt Buffalo. SOLD |
