Scarce Colt Junior Commando Revolver, 2" Snub Nose Barrel, Factory Postwar Rework/Later Assembled, likely made for police or security guard use as no flaming bomb inspection marking.

Description:

A wonderful example of a 6-shot Colt Jr. Commando .38 special parkerized revolver, 2" snub nosed barrel, as reworked/later assembled from Colt, with serrated ramped front sight and grooved rear sight, having the “COLT COMMANDO” and "38 Special" on the left side of barrel; the later two line Colt address on the right side of the barrel. Faint Colt inspection mark on left side of trigger guard. "P" marked on the cylinder and left side of frame near the hammer. Full matching serial number (40233) on the inner frame and crane. Fitted with usual brown plastic Colt logo grips surmounting a checkered bordered field.

Condition:

VG+/EXC original parkerized condition as factory reworked/later assembled with sharp edge wear at muzzle and edges of cylinder as one would expect from a holstered revolver that has seen moderate use. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A very attractive Colt Junior Commando revolver!
