Description: The Type 14 Nambu pistol served as the standard sidearm of the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy from 1925 through the end of World War II. This particular example features the distinctive Manchurian Large Guard variation, developed following combat experience in Manchuria where soldiers wearing heavy winter gloves needed additional trigger guard clearance for reliable operation in harsh conditions.
This very fine example was manufactured in June 1943 at the Toriimatsu Branch of the Nagoya Arsenal during the height of World War II production. Features the enlarged trigger guard that characterizes the Manchurian variant and retains over 80% of its original finish with a fine bore throughout. Matching numbers except for magazine #819, which is typical for these wartime pistols as magazines were often replaced during service. Good firing pin and mechanically fine overall, though the magazine safety spring is broken - a common issue with these pistols that can be addressed by a qualified gunsmith. An excellent example of this historically significant Japanese military sidearm from late wartime production.
