The Winchester 94 that we have here on consignment (serial #: 4545051) is from the 1977 production run and is chambered in 30-30 Win. Classic rifle, classic cartridge.
The 20 inch round barrel is topped by an adjustable rear sight and a hooded front sight. The half-cock position of the hammer acts as a safety. The stock is a straight grip Walnut stock and the buttstock ends with a black Winchester buttplate. The lever is a standard loop size.
Mechanically, we note that the lower action (meaning the lever) has some side-to-side play. We did not diagnose that issue further, nor did we try to resolve it. We mention it to be complete in our description.
The wood on the stock and forearm is Good, with normal signs of use but we saw no cracks. The Winchester buttpad is in Good condition but does have some discoloration. The finish on the barrel is Very Good and we found no issues. The receiver has lost a good portion of the original finish. However, the metal is very smooth and we feel no pitting or rust. The muzzle is in good shape with no nicks or gouges. The bore is clean, the barrel is bright and the rifling looks to be strong.
