Painting by F.V. Williams
Description: A fine and original painting by F.V. Williams, a noted and accomplished writer, illustrator and artist from Quebec Ontario. This painting was presented to Lefever Arms Co. of Utica New York in the 1920's as the original insciption on the reverse dictates. The name of the painting is "Williams Trail". The painting remains in excellent condition and is in its original frame. The scene depicts 2 hunters, the man on the left carrying a hatchet and the one on the right aiming the double barrel shotgun, which i would assume is Williams, shooting a Lefever double barrel at a Quebec Caribou. The colors are vivid and its a very realistic woodlands scene with the rocks, bushes, grass and trees. The men are well depicted in the period hunting clothes, hats, boots...etc...as is the Caribou...very well done. The actual painting measures 17 3/4 inches wide and 13 inches tall, not including the frame. It is signed in the lower right corner. F.V. Williams wrote and illustrated for several Canadian hunting and fishing magazines and possibly some American publications in that time period. A fine painting by a known artist/writer that was presented to a famous American Gun company. USPS priority shipping is 35.00 Price: $2,400.00 Contact Seller |
