Described by the author on page 564 (top) in "Bayonets of the World The Complete Edition" by Paul Kiesling as an unidentified confederate American bayonet, copied from the M. 1862 Zouave bayonet and intended for use on captured rifles.
This one has a muzzle ring diameter of .715, a blade length of 19 3/4" and overall length of 24 5/8".
grips and guard cast of brass in one piece with a fish skin pattern.
Steel locking spring and screw, unmarked. The blade has a 13 1/4" fuller.
No scabbard. An above average condition example.
This piece came from a very old collection assembled in the 1940's.
