Rare Imperial German Postal Official's Degen. WWI Period German Postal Officer Dress Sword. Engraved blade with minimum of pitting on the blade. Guard with the Prussian Eagle is in very good shape. Grip with tight, triple twisted, wire wrap. Rare complete leather and brass mounted scabbard with a few minor scratches to the leather, yet no defects. Good Overall Condition. Total length is 32 1/2". Length of the blade is 27 1/4". A seldom encountered and extremely attractive sword with a single-edge, narrow etched blade. No maker's mark is present on the blade. This sword is the standard model which had smooth brass mounts, guard and clamshell. The grip is made of twisted silver wire wrap with the silver Hohenzollern eagle is mounted to the clamshell. The sword is complete in the proper leather scabbard with brass throat and tip. An impressive sword in excellent condition. PAYMENT
