Description:
GEORGE III PAT. 1751 INFANTRY HANGER WITH 34TH REGT. MARKINGS. 30” overall. 24 ½” blade with blade stamped on right side “HARVEY” within the “RUNNING WOLF” mark. Brass hilt with “HEART” shaped guard engraved on the face “7/34” and “M=CUMBERLAND” for the Cumberland Regiment of Foot with number designation as the “34th”. Extra fine condition overall and 100% original. The 34th Regt. saw considerable service in both the French and Indian War and the Revolution. They were in Florida and Louisiana in the former and with Burgoyne’s Army in the latter. One of the best we have seen.
