RANDALL MADE KNIVES:
RARE COLLECTION
OF
"KITS" KNIVES FROM 1971 MOST STUNNING SET AVAILABLE TODAY!
Description: Randall knives: Rare unique set of four ( 4 ) Randall "MAKE-IT-YOURSELF" "KITS" knives from February 1971. In the 50's, 60's and early 70's the Randall shop had a couple sheets of paper that listed "KITS" parts such as raw brass, wood, leather washers etc. Also, the unfinished blades were priced from and after heat- treat, rough ground to finished blades. Randall did not put the knives together except every once in a while they would solder on the guard. During various periods they left the blades plain (no kit etch) etched kit, or etch a customer's name with no etched. These are by far the nicest, flawless, spectacular models you'll ever encounter. Without a doubt these models can "rival," any knives made at the shop from that era. Great care was taken during the making and fitting of these "KITS" knives and all these factors are reflected in the five exquisite models you are seeing. Please pay much attention to the original pink-like sheet for further details about these "KITS" knives from Randall in pictures # 8,9,10 and # 11). The Model # 14 "Attack" with a Solingen-Made blade is NOT a "KIT" knife but still have a rare chrome plated blade. Note:These knives were made right before the shop stopped to stamped any knives with the Randall logo or trademark and the word "KIT" etched on the blade. There are two Model # 3's two Models # 1's and one Model # 14 Attack. Will preferably sold it as a set, however, each knife can be had separately for $1150.00 postpaid each regardless of your choice. Sold "AS IS." Randall "MAKE-IT-YOURSELF" KIT Model # 3-7 1/8" chrome plated carbon steel blade from 01 tool steel. The word "KIT" is etched on the left side of the Randall logo, German silver single guard, India Sambar stag handle with very deep finger grips, matching German silver butt cap (not a duralumin butt cap folks). The original scabbard was lost therefore there is a replacement Model # A . Because of the deep finger grips in the handle, this model offers incredible handling capabilities and a superb balance (knife balance right at the first grip when your index finger is placed there). The overall length is exactly 12". There are very few shinny silver-like spots on the right/ left side of the blade that can be seen in some of the pictures. Other than that it is a spectacular and stunning model. As with its counterparts (four others models) this is a February 1971 production . Extremely rare knife from another era. Knife sold "AS IS. Randall "MAKE-IT-YOURSELF" Model # 3-6" Hunter KIT model from 440-B stainless steel chrome plated blade, with the word KIT etched to the left of the Randall logo, German silver single guard, stag antler handle with very deep finger grips, wrist thong with the original leather lanyard still attached to such. February 1971 production. The large India Sambar stag handle is fashioned with a " flare" at the end which totally eliminated the use of a butt cap. Comes with the original brown rough back Johnson leather scabbard with the original white Arkansas sharpening stone in hone pocket. The workmanship, fitting of the guard where handle meets is perfect. This model is a real beauty. Sold "AS IS." Randall "MAKE-IT-YOURSELF" Model # 1-6" KIT All-Purpose Fighting Knife from 440-B stainless steel stock, large separate "S" with a chrome plated blade. The word "KIT is etched on the left side of the Randall logo, German silver double guard, black micarta handle with very deep finger grips, made in February 1971 .The workmanship, finish and general appearance is unsurpassed. This is a beauty of a flawless knife. All the listed "KIT" knives were obtained thru Dick Van Sickle Randall's largest dealer back then. Comes with the original black rough black Johnson leather scabbard and the original white Arkansas sharpening stone in hone pocket which is stamped on the back 12 6 . Randall "MAKE-IT-YOURSELF" KIT Model # 1-7" carbon steel blade etched with the word KIT on the left side of the Randall logo, German silver double guard, ebony handle, no check or crack, duralumin butt cap, this is the fourth model of a series of five. Original rough back Johnson brown leather scabbard with original white Arkansas sharpening stone in hone pocket. Overall length is exactly 12-3/8". Handle is a full 5-1/6" by itself allowing for tremendous handling capabilities and balance. Perfect job on the soldering of the German silver double guard. This is also a chrome plated blade, one can see very few silver-like specs on it, see picture # 1, 2 and 6. (refer to the listing for the model # 3-7" for further details). February 1971 production. Randall Model # Attack Solingen-made blade 7-5/16" with a chrome plated blade from 01 carbon tool steel stock, large brass double guard, Brazilian rosewood handle. The scabbard is a replacement as the original was lost and it is stamped on the back 2 8. The overall length is exactly 13". The handle is a full 5" in length and an inch thick at the end. Handle flares out so the need for a butt cap was eliminated. There is also a full distal taper of the handle from the end toward the guard making for one of the most comfortable and superb handling capabilities never seen on such model. This model is a February 1971 production. Knife is in an immaculate, pristine, new condition. Pictures # 12 and # 13 denotes an indentation or "cut-out" in the handle, this is not a flaw but a cleaver way to allow to place your finger therefore allowing for a better and more secure control of the weapon. The pink-like sheet with other seen info on catalog does not comes with the knife. SOLD |
