U.S. Model 1860 Cavalry saber made by Ames Co. in 1863. Ricasso Reads in Chicopee, Massachusetts. A very fine Ames Co. marking on one side and U.S. D.R. 1863 marking on the other side. Blade is very good. Leather wrap on grip is flaking and wire is missing. Scabbard is good with a few dents. Good overall condition Civil War saber.
