WW2 US Marine Corps Corpsmen's Knife
Description: This is the non-maker marked variant that measures 16 1/2" overall, with an 11 1/4" straight, single-edged blade with rounded tip. The blade itself is mostly factory bright, but does exhibit scattered spots and specks of dark freckling near the hilt, as well as along both sides of the blade. The deeply struck “U.S.M.C." on the reverse also has dark spots of freckling within, and around, the letters. The wooden grip scales are in fine shape with some minor handling marks and a few specks of white paint at the bird's head pommel. The grip rivets have tarnished to dark brown over time. The knife is housed in a 1943 dated, Boyt scabbard that has an unfinished design carved into the otherwise very good, slightly crazed leather. The throat collar has an ochre patina, and the belt hooks have a brown-black patina. This is a very good plus example of a neat WW2 edged weapon. SOLD Manufacturer: USMC Model: Corpsman |
